Working theory 4 of 6 · revised October 16, 2026

What must be explicit before an agent can own the next step?

What I think right now

The commitment, the authority, and what counts as done. Formal Project Bootstrap writes those down before work starts, because an agent cannot ask the hallway what everyone meant.

What would change my mind

Agents that reliably recover intent from loose context without drifting from it.

Loose ends

  • How much structure is too much for small work.
  • Who updates the contract when the goal moves.

The trail

  1. System Formal Project Bootstrap ↗ Intent, authority, ready work, compiled context, evidence, and qualification become inspectable project machinery. Agent Control Plane supplies admission and bounded delivery decisions.
  2. Essay The Prompt Was Never the Point From prompt engineering to constitutional systems for model judgment, uncertainty, and action.
  3. Essay Living Documentation The input-side contract for generative work.

Think I have this wrong? That is the most useful thing you could tell me.
