Cleanplate

A comics corpus where each asset carries its rights, provenance and structure, built so an export can ship with a defensible rights manifest.

In development Working name
Cleanplate library with an upload panel and a shelf of six sample comic books shown as colorful cover thumbnails.
The shelf: each upload is stored by content hash and admitted with a read-only rights grant. The books are sample pages drawn for this demo.
Dark reader screen showing one sample comic page of five panels with two figures, a boat and a lighthouse, and a counter reading 2 of 4.
The reader pages through an uploaded archive. The page shown is sample art drawn for the demo, not a real comic.

Cleanplate is a comics and manga corpus meant to be licensable. Every asset is supposed to enter under stated authority, such as public domain, Creative Commons, creator-direct or a held license, so that a buyer of training data can see exactly what they are allowed to use.

Each asset gets a scoped, revocable rights grant: holder, capability, territory, media, language, term and evidence, with training as its own capability that is never inferred from the others. The export emits a rights manifest built only from active grants covering training, and it leaves out any asset without one instead of including it with a warning.

Status Early: the proof slice (ingest, corpus, rights, export, reader) is scaffolded and the minimal rights model is a draft for review.
